Matt's racing career began with Skip Barber racing school at the Jefferson Circuit in Summit Point West Virginia. After racing school he spent a successful year in solo competition with his Acura RSX type S, frequenting Giants Stadium Autocross events with the M Club. Wanting more out of motor sports, Matt went to go watch his friend Sam Corke race his spec miata at an SCCA limerock event. Inspired by the wheel to wheel racing action, Matt followed in Sam’s footsteps and decided to get into the world of SCCA Club Racing. Choosing to run in the ITS class, he purchased an old RX7 race car and prepared it. Finally in July of 2005 Matt participated in his first race at Watkins Glen. Sadly the engine blew up on lap 9 ending his first race prematurely however the fuse had been lit. After repairs he came back to the Glen for two more races at the end of the season placing 9th and 7th in class. In subsequent years Matt has proven to be a consistent ITS podium contender having very successful seasons in 06 and 07. In 2008 Matt placed second in the Team DI Pro IT Series and in 2009 won the series. In December of 09 Matt tried his hand at open wheel racing with the Skip Barber Series. Flying out to Laguna Seca, Matt placed 3rd on a new circuit closing out a very successful season.
