Opening Day 4/21/07
NHIS w/o chicane
The 2007 season has finally begun with the opener up at NHIS. This was Ridgespeed's first trip to the New Hampshire roval that hosts so many northeast events. Running the RX7 for the first time this season on a new suspension and circuit would prove to be a challenging task, yet despite the rather steep learning curve there was still a chance to snag some early NARRC points. The day started out well with good weather, track conditions, and the car running smooth. The qualifying session went fairly well, as Matt tried to get a feel for the track and some of its trickier corners which there were a few. After the 20 minute session Matt qualified 11th for the race. The race was a bit hectic to say the least with an off road excursion by the back chicane and a bunch of smoking tires coming into 3, however by the end Matt was able to nab 5th in class making the 2007 debut a success. Special thanks go out to Marianne, Martin, and Nicholas Fairall, Fred Ruoff, and technical expert Baron Hartley for their help and support at the track. Hope to see you guys at another event soon.
